To clean the distance gauge window:

1. Place the laser into STANDBY and remove the distance gauge assembly from the handpiece.
2. Look through the distance gauge window at a ceiling light. Rotating the distance gauge will
cause the debris on the window to rotate, making it more apparent.
3. Using a Q-tip, clean the window with a 10% bleach & water solution, mild soap and water or
alcohol.
4. Re-inspect the window.
5. If unacceptable, replace Distance Gauge Assembly.

To disinfect the Distance Gauges:
· Disinfect by wiping with a gauze pad moistened with alcohol or disinfectant. Allow to dry.

To sterilize Distance Gauges:
· Clean by wiping with a gauze pad moistened with alcohol or disinfectant, and allow to dry. Then
proceed with sterilization in an autoclave, according to instructions of the autoclave
manufacturer. (Typical autoclave parameters would be pressure of 15 pounds per square inch,
temperature of 270°F (132°C) and time of three minutes). After autoclaving, allow distance
gauge to cool.
